WELCOME

Welcome to the CECH Library's  PRAXIS Tests guide to resources and information.  This guide includes:

  • links to resources for preparing for PRAXIS I
  • links to resources for preparing for PRAXIS II
  • registration information
  • UC Testing Services office information

The Praxis Series™ tests measure teacher candidates’ knowledge and skills. The tests are used for licensing and certification processes.

Why do I need to take the PRAXIS tests?

PRAXIS I:  These tests measure basic skills in reading, writing and mathematics. In addition to licensure, these tests are often used to qualify candidates for entry into a teacher education program.

PRAXIS II:  These tests measure subject-specific content knowledge, as well as general and subject-specific teaching skills, that you need for beginning teaching.
