Integrating Library Resources into Blackboard - A Guide for Faculty

SafeAssign™ is a plagiarism prevention service offered by Blackboard. Instructors can set up SafeAssignments in their Blackboard courses and let students submit papers to these assignments. As students submit papers, they are checked against SafeAssign's comprehensive databases of source material.  The papers will then be delivered to instructors through the Blackboard Learning System together with the originality reports, with the results of the matching process, attached to them.

Learn more about SafeAssign at the official Blackboard Help site.

Plagiarism Prevention

Librarians will be happy to work with you towards plagiarism prevention. Please see Preventing Student Plagiarism: A Guide for Faculty for tutorials, assignment ideas, links to interactive tests and quizzes, quiz questions, and assessment rubrics.

Your students can learn about plagiarism and ways to avoid it by taking an interactive tutorial, which includes a quiz with a certificate option: Plagiarism: Why It Should Matter to You.

Alternatively you may refer your students to Using Information Sources Ethically and Legally, a student guide on plagiarism prevention.
