Psychology -- Resources & Services (Main Library)

The Psychology Resources pages provide links to a wide range of resources to facilitate course work and scholarship.

Linking Videos to Blackboard content

UC Libraries' contract with Alexander Street Counseling authorizes linking to any of the 900 plus streaming videos in the series Counseling and Therapy in Video.  Adding these links to your Blackboard course content is simple.

  1. Connect to Counseling and Therapy in Video.
  2. Find and select the video for which you intend to create a link. You can use the "Advanced Search" option or any number of the available browsing options to find the video(s) you need.
  3. Click on the video you wish to add to your course to open a specific video.
  4. Click on the Embed/Link option (see below), and then click on the [Copy Link] button (see below).
  5. Then copy  the "Permalink" (see below) to paste into your Blackboard course.  (See step #9 for using the Embed code.)

6.  Now open your Blackboard course and go to the area, e.g. "Class Assignments," you wish to make the video link.

7.  Click on the "Build Content" option and then on "Web Link."  Then fill in the video title (Name) and the permalink URL (see below).

8.  Click on the Submit button to add the video to your course.

9.  If you wish to embed the media content within the course (active video box in the course) as opposed to using the permalink described in steps 5 -- 8, see the detailed Blackboard instructions for "How to Create Mashups" in Creating Content in a Course Area .
