Installing and using Write-N-Cite to format papers/bibliographies with MS Word

Write-N-Cite is a utility that runs inside MS Word (alternatives to Word generated bibliographics) and runs an abbreviated version of RefWorks that enables you to search for references, add in-text citations, or footnotes/endnotes to your manuscript and to create a corresponding bibliography.  Refworks offers the following versions:

  • Version III for Windows XP/Vista/Windows 7 and MS Word 2003 or above
  • Version 4.0 for Windows XP/Vista/Windows 7, 8 and MS Word 2007, 2010 or 2013 (local installation)
  • Version 4.0 for Mac OS X version 10.6, 10.7 & 10.8 (Snow Leopard, Lion & Mountain Lion) and MS Word for Mac 2008 and 2011
