Law Faculty Guide to the Law Library

Welcome to the Robert S. Marx Law Library! This guide is intended to introduce you to the many ways that the Library can assist you to succeed in your teaching and research!

Course Reserves

Reserves are located in the Library Services Suite near the Circulation Desk, the loan period for students is for a two-hour period. Material for courses can be placed on reserve by contacting Lisa Britt Wernke at (513) 556-0156, lisa.britt@uc.edu, Office 310A. Examples of materials that can be placed on reserve are:

  • Photocopied course materials;
  • Personal copies of materials;
  • Library materials, including books, videotapes or microforms; and
  • Videotape or audiotape recordings of class sessions or presentations.

To expedite this process, provide the item you wish to be placed on reserve as well as the name of the course or seminar for which it is to be placed on reserve, and any restrictions on use. Copyright assistance information can be found at Copyright and Fair Use at UC Libraries and at Copyright FAQ. We must have copyright permission for third-party copied materials. If it is an item from the Law Library’s collection, please give your liaison or a Lisa Britt Wernke a citation for the item as well as the name of the course or seminar, and any restrictions on use.

Exams

The Law Library maintains a few past or sample exams for student use on a restricted TWEN site. Students frequently ask for old exams to help them study. Faculty members decide whether or not to make those exams available to the Library. To make exams available, please contact your liaison or Susan Boland, susan.boland@uc.edu, at (513) 556-1332.
