Blackboard - Integrating CECH Library Resources into Blackboard: a Guide for Faculty

This guide offers links and instruction for integrating library resources and other research tools into CECH course Blackboard sites.

What is a CampusGuide and why would I link to it?

If you would like a CampusGuide developed for a course, contact your subject librarian.

Linking to CampusGuides is a convenient way for your students to access subject- or course-specific information from your Blackboard course. If you are teaching an education course, for example, you may want to link to the Education: General guide as a general resource. If a librarian has created a course/assignment-specific guide for your class, linking to the guide provides direct access to specific resources and possibly techniques and tips related to the assignment.

Click the tab above for Education Guides or:

The CECH Library CampusGuides home page lists all guides created for CECH programs.

The UC CampusGuides home page lists all guides created so far at UC Libraries.

Add a link to a CampusGuide

Linking to a CampusGuide is similar to linking to a library page: just copy the URL and add it to your course following the directions in the box on the left of this page.

If you prefer to embed the CampusGuide into your course rather than link to it, go here for instructions.

Add a link to a library Web page

  • Log into your Blackboard account and navigate to your course.
  • Click the button for the course component where you want to add links, for example, "Assignments."
  • Position your mouse over the "Build" menu and click on the “Create external link” option.

  • Enter requested information.
  • Click on "Submit."
