Endnote with Online Access
All UC students, faculty and staff are authorized to register for a free institutional EndNote online account. Online access to EndNote provides owners of the EndNote desktop product with a web based collaborative companion to the desktop version of EndNote. EndNote online can operate as an independent personal information and citation management tool, though it lacks many of the functionalities and display capabilities of the desktop version of EndNote.
However, online access to your EndNote library can provide you with many new information & citation management capabilities, including the following:
Featured Uses of "online" access to EndNote
"Match," the new manuscript matching utility, to facilitate the discovery of the best journal candidates for your manuscript
Take a look a the "Manuscript Matcher" video to learn how this new feature of EndNote Online can help you "match" your manuscript, using only the text of your title and abstract, to find appropriate journal candidates to enhance your publishing opportunities. AND if you use EndNote to collect your research literature information -- the "match" becomes even more accurate. Need to set up an EndNote Online account? Set up your EndNote Online account now.
Sharing groups of references in your EndNote Library (database) with colleagues
See the Sharing Groups link to view a list of features of group sharing on EndNote online, and see the Managing Shared Groups link for instructions on how to "share, " "unshare" and hide groups.
Synchronizing your desktop database with EndNote online or on multiple computers (NOTE: To access this feature you must purchase the EndNote desktop product. EndNote desktop owners receive "at least" 2 years of access to the sync feature and more than 2 years of access if Clarivate takes longer than 2 years to offer a new version of EndNote.)
View the "Synchronizing EndNote" videos to learn how to sync your desktop database from version X7 or later with EndNote online or to additional computers.
More information is available about EndNote Online in the Quick Reference Card below. Particularly useful is the information about using the desktop and online products together.
