Electronic Books Library (EBL) is an internet platform housing e-books purchased by the UC libraries. EBL's use is restricted to UC students, faculty and staff.
ACCESSING EBL at UC
On/Off Campus: Go directly to EBL site, search the library catalog or Summon.
*Access requires campus 6+2 login credentials.
VIEWING BOOKS ON EBL
EBL Online Reader is the default reader and can be used within your browser on any computer or mobile devices.
DOWNLOADING BOOKS
PDF format e-books can be downloaded and viewed offline for a set loan period. All downloaded ebooks are read via Adobe Digital Editions (ADE). Please ensure you have this free software installed before downloading. eBooks can also be downloaded directly and read on mobile devices using the Bluefire Reader mobile app, available for Android and iOS.
PRINTING/COPYING
Printing is restricted to 20% of each ebook, and copying 5%. Similar restrictions apply when you read ebooks offline.
BOOKSHELF AND COLLECTIONS (Store books, annotate, highlight, search, etc...)
The bookshelf lists current loans within EBL, allowing quick access to your recently viewed materials. Users can drag and drop to create collections to group and organize titles as well as export citations and lists on the fly. Using online eBook reader gives options to search the full text, create, save, and export notes; copy, print, and read aloud. Collections
CITING OR SAVING INFORMATION WITH REFWORKS, ENDNOTE
EBL has options to export citations directly to Refworks and EndNote products for collecting bibliographic information. You can save information for your current document or for all documents in a collection..
