Step 1: Watch Mapping Research Ideas Tutorial + Create Concept Map

This short video walks you through mapping an idea into a research topic.  You'll find a concept map template (Microsoft Word) that you can easily download or create your own map.  The goal of a concept map is to help you visually organize ideas about your research topic.

Reminder: Bring your completed concept map to the library instruction class.

Step 2: Watch Summon Basics Tutorial (UC Libraries Search Tool)

This video introduces the UC Libraries search tool, Summon, and setting up a search for sources.

Step 3: Watch Format Matters Video

This video introduces the concept of source formats (also called types) and how they are different (e.g., audience, purpose).
