Note that Ohio is now using the UBE. Prior to July 2020, the Ohio Bar Examination consisted of two MPT items given in two ninety-minute sessions, 12 Ohio essay questions given in two three-hour sessions, and the MBE. The UBE consists of two MPT items given in one three-hour session, six MEE items given in one three-hour session, and the Multistate Bar Examination. These essay questions were written by the Ohio Board of Bar Examiners and were used on the Ohio Bar Examination. These essay questions are simply a guide and should not be substituted for a MEE. Further, the answers associated with the essay questions and the MPT items were graded by the Ohio Board of Bar Examiners and illustrates what the Board considered above average performance on the written portion of the examination.
