Veterans Research Guide

Veterans law is an area of law that covers the legal treatment of military veterans and veterans' families. This guide will point you to helpful research resources.

Overview

Veterans Day originated as “Armistice Day” on Nov. 11, 1919, the first anniversary marking the end of World War I. Congress passed a resolution in 1926 for an annual observance, and November 11th became a national holiday beginning in 1938.
