Fiction or Non-Fiction: What's the Difference?

  • Fiction is a made-up story with a plot and characters.
  • Non-fiction books are informational. Non-fiction books also MAY:
    • Contain a made-up story as fiction books do but are (in proportion) more focused on conveying information than story
    • Relate to folktales, folklore, or traditional cultural stories
