The purpose of this guide is to provide an overview of resources the Swahili language and culture of Swahili-speaking peoples in the UC Libraries' collections.
In the UC Collection
The African Languages and Literatures Collection is located in Langsam Library on 6 East. The call numbers for publications on African languages are PL 8000-8009 and on African literatures PL 8009.5-8014. All items in the collection are cataloged in the UC Library Catalog.
Some materials may be located in Southwest Depository, a.k.a. SWORD. When searching the Library Catalog, if you find that a book is located at SW Depository or SWORD, click on “Request Item,” fill out the form, and the book will be delivered to the library of your choice.
