This guide features the STEM e-kits in the CECH Library that can be checked out. STEM e-kits are curriculum materials that contain a digital and/or physical components.

STEAM e-kits

The STEM e-kits below can be checked out from the CECH Library for 5-day with a UC photo id.  "E-kits" are curriculum materials that combine digital and/or physical spaces.    Come, explore, check out the e-kits, and have fun (fun for both you and the students you will teach.)

Use play-dough to create basic circuits

Dash and Dot

  • "Dash" is a robot for children ages 6 and up, it moves, dances, lights up, make sounds, and avoids obstacles.
  • "Dot" is a stationary robot, but don't underestimate this dot's own unique attributes.

Google Cardboard

  • Cruse into the world of Virtual Reality with the Google Cardboard.
  • You can experience a field trip to Eiffel Tower in Paris or to the Pyramids in Egypt from here.

Bloxels

Osmo

Ozobot-Evo

  • Connect with friends, play games, and get creative ideas when you pair Evo with the app.

Electronic Snap Circuits

  • The Snap Circuits toy can be used to make interesting circuits, encouraging educational play that teaches students about electricity.
  • Snap Circuits gives students hands-on education in how electrical circuits run the everyday devices that they're familiar with.
  • This educational toy comes with a complete instruction manual and project guide that helps you to guide students through exploring over 300 experiments.

Steam Student set

  • The STEAM Student Set engages kids in STEM/STEAM learning through creating fun inventions.
  • Develop creative, design, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Use it, improve it, experiment.
  • No programming, soldering or wiring required.

Squishy Circuits

  • Squishy Circuits are a great way to introduce electronic education in the curriculum
  • Students can compare the properties of conductive and resistive/insulating dough
  • Students can demonstrate their understanding of basic circuitry through the design of their squishy circuit.
