AIS 3001-4099: Applied Interdisciplinary Studies

Starting point for Bachelor of Technical & Applied Studies (BTAS) Program research assignments.

Start Search Using Summon

Summon is a great place to start a search for sources (e.g. scholarly articles, news articles, ebooks, streaming media). Use the search box on this page or go to the Articles search box on the UC Libraries website. Refer to your Keyword Map worksheet to help create a focused search.

- Find potential key concepts and keywords in non-library sources.
Example: if topic is related to a non-profit organization, look at their web site, marketing materials, and strategic plan (e.g. philanthropy, fund raising)

- Consider using broad and narrow keywords and phrases especially when searching for specific types of sources such as scholarly journal articles.
Example: if topic is related to a Cincinnati-based organization, use words that describe the purpose and/or scope of organization (e.g. food pantries, job training programs)
