Sciwheel is an award-winning and evolving technology that provides customizable, intuitive and accessible tools to progress research and discovery. Sciwheel is meant to support the entire science writing process, from discovering recommended critical papers to easily saving and annotating references.   

Pros of Sciwheel:

  2. Designed specifically for life scientists  
  3. Useful for anyone writing scholarly or academic articles
  4. Web based application
  5. Browser extension to collect and annotate references (works best in databases)
  6. Word plugin to find and insert citations and generate bibliographies
  7. Desktop, tablets/smartphones app available

Cons of Sciwheel:

  1. When you leave UC, pay to use or move to another citation manager 
  2. Does not 'grab' references from web pages easily

Help Using Sciwheel

Sciwheel is a web-based application. It features a browser extension, powerful word processing plugins and a mobile application. It also offers a desktop app that makes it easy to import or drag & drop PDFs to your online library.  

UC Libraries subscribes to F1000 (Faculty of 1000) and Sciwheel is free for UC users. 

Create a Sciwheel account or log in if you have an account.
