Getting Started with Citations

Citation can be complicated because we now access information in so many different formats.

If you don't know how to cite an information source, gather as much information as you can about it, and ask a librarian to help you. The Academic Success Center at Clermont College (Peters-Jones 104) can also provide assistance on all aspects of the writing process, including help with citation. UC Libraries also provides a comprehensive guide to citing works in various formats.

EBSCOhost databases, Summon, and many other library databases will actually provide citations for you. Users can usually select their preferred citation style when saving, printing, or emailing an article. However, caution should be exercised because there can be errors in the auto generation!
