Research made easy.

EXPLORING RESEARCH TOPICS

This unit provides information on choosing a research topic, gathering background information, and  brainstorming new areas of inquiry.

What's in this unit?

  • A video that introduces the concept of research questions
  • Links to several library resources and a curated New York Times list of ideas for digging deeper into potential research topics
  • A downloadable workbook to keep track of your background reading and topic ideas

How will this help me?

Choosing a research topic is one of the hardest parts of the research process! Exploring your topic ideas from different viewpoints will give you a sense of what conversations people are having about this topic and help you brainstorm directions for your own paper.
