Introduction

GitHub is a web based Public Repository for collaboration, Version Control, access control and Source Code Management. While its distributed version control and source code management (SCM) functionality is based on Git, it has added functionality. It provides access control and several collaboration features such as bug tracking, feature requests, task management, and wikis for every project.

As of May 2019, GitHub reports having almost 37 million users and 100 million repositories, making it the largest host of source code in the world [1].
