International Students' Library Resources Guide

This guide provides interdisciplinary resources that relate to international students at UC

Finding and Locating Books

Use OneSearch to find the books in UC Libraries' collections. You can search for books by author, title, keyword or subject. OneSearch also includes records for maps, videos, music scores, slides and other material types.

Textbooks

Textbooks and other course materials required for individual classes generally are NOT purchased for the library collection.  As a research library, our collections are focused on the diverse and long-term research needs of our users.  However, some UC Libraries do buy textbooks.

To locate textbooks that are available:

  1. Check OneSearch
  2. Check University of Cincinnati Libraries' Reserves to see if your professor placed a copy on reserve at the library

Some library databases include selected textbooks.

Getting Material Not Available at Your Library

Please note:

  • If you select the same library location for picking up the book as the one where the book is located (for example, you request a book from Langsam stacks to be delivered to Langsam Circulation), the request will be canceled.
  • If the item is not available in University of Cincinnati Libraries and OhioLINK member libraries, you can request it by Interlibrary Loan.
