Welcome to the Ohio Assessments for Educators and Praxis Core: Resources and Tips guide. This guide provides interdisciplinary resources that relate to study for OAE and Praxis Core assessments at UC and can help you navigate educator licensure tests.
The Ohio Assessments for Educators (OAE) tests are provided by the Evaluation Systems Group of Pearson and measure professional, pedagogical and subject-specific knowledge and skills. Both pedagogical and content knowledge areas were formerly assessed in the Praxis II tests, which for the majority of content areas, have been replaced by these OAE tests in the state of Ohio.
Praxis Core (also known as Praxis I) is provided by the Educational Testing Service, or ETS. Praxis Core measures academic skills in reading, math, and writing and are taken by some candidates entering teacher preparation programs.
