The purpose of this Guide is to provide tips on prevention and detection of student plagiarism and unauthorized use of generative AI with a strong emphasis on prevention.

The recently revised UC Student Code of Conduct lists "unauthorized use of artificial intelligence" as a form of academic misconduct under "Cheating" (p.10).
