What Is a Grant?

Grants are non-repayable funds or goods that provide financial assistance to tax-exempt organizations, small businesses or individuals. However, grants are more than free cash for an organization or personal endeavor. A grant is an award that is accorded under the conditions that the funding will be used for a specific purpose with unique conditions.
