The Health Sciences Library (HSL) is open and staff are working both onsite and remotely as we transition back to our normal workflows.  

Library Classes and Workshops

HSL Classes and Workshops: register online for workshops that promote the effective use of PubMed, Scopus, REDCap, Intro to Literature Searching, NLM Biomedical Informatics, RefWorks, Endnote and more. Some workshop webinars are currently on the schedule.

UC Online Learning Opportunities

LinkedIn Learning, provided by UC, is an online educational platform with more than 5,000 technology-related, business, and creative software courses.  It's  designed for all levels of learners and is available whenever and wherever the user is ready to learn.  UC users login with Central Login credentials.

ILLiad: Request an Article or Book

ILLiad: Online Article/Book Request System

Request an article either by going directly to the ILLiad request form or making the request through a database.  

Use the ILLiad Request Form

To request an article or book go to: https://libraries.uc.edu/libraries/hsl/services/borrow.html 

  • Click on Health Sciences Library ILLiad Request System and log in using your UC Central login.
  • Fill in the correct request form and submit
  • Receive the article usually within 24-48 hours

Request an Article While Using a Database  (instructions attached below)

Create an Interlibrary Loan ILLiad Account

Create an Interlibrary Loan (ILLiad) account to request articles or books not available at UC.   

  • Enter information into the form that pops up on the screen. 
      If no form pops up, click on “Change User Information”   

(This is in the left-hand sidebar towards the bottom of the screen.)  

  

  • Fill in all fields on the form. e.g. Name, M Number, UC Email Address, Address  

(Please note: You can use work or home phone number and address. It’s your choice.)  

  

M Number = e.g. “M12345678 (you will receive an M number with your UC username) 

Daytime Phone = e.g. 999-999-9999" (the form requires dashes) 

Status = “Staff” 

Department = “University Hospital” 

  

Be sure to click “Submit Information”

Important to access Illiad from the HSL website

 

  • Having issues creating the Interlibrary Loan ILLiad account or submitting the form?

HSL Spaces

HSL Informatics Lab

The HSL is currently using the Informatics Lab as a temporary Anatomy Learning Center. You can make an appointment to visit the space and utilize the specimens by contacting our Circualtion Desk (513) 558-0127. 

The HSL Informatics Lab is designed for innovative and collaborative hands-on learning experiences. It is a place for UC researchers and graduate students to connect, collaborate, and receive research support services.

Dr. Stanley J. Lucas Board Room 
The Dr. Stanley J. Lucas Board Room provides an attractive, convenient, and comfortable environment for members of the UC community to hold meetings, seminars, and receptions in accordance with the mission of the University.
 
The room seats 40 guests.

Dr. Stanley B. Troup Learning Space

The Dr. Stanley B. Troup Learning Space is a state of the art electronic classroom located on the G Level of the Health Sciences Library. It features advanced multimedia technology and is configured for interactive group learning, hybrid meetings and more. The room is optimized for 'bring your own device.' However, there is a cart of laptops available by request. 

The room seats 30 guests.
