The Kentucky Constitution, Section 116 empowers the Kentucky Supreme Court to promulgate rules of practice and procedure for the Kentucky courts. The Supreme Court sets forth the operation rules for the courts and establishes general procedures. The rules are grouped into the following categories:
The Kentucky Rules are included in the Kentucky Revised Statutes Annotated. The KRS volumes include case annotations and references to scholarly articles. West Group also publishes a three volume set of Kentucky rules annually. The rules volumes include: state rules, federal rules, and local rules.
