Searching for Performance Arts Materials using OneSearch

To begin your search for materials in the CCM Library collections, look on the CCM Library home page at the top left navigation menu, and select the OneSearch advanced search option:
 

Following the OneSearch advanced search link takes you to the OneSearch advanced search menu, the optimal search screen to use when looking for music and other performing arts materials.

For best results, be sure to first log in by clicking on the "Sign in" tab, located at the top right of the screen. Select Login using: UC Students & Staff, and log in with your UC credentials. Logging in also gives you the opportunity to view your loans, requests, and account information, as well as access your search history and saved searches and records.

Once you're logged in, start searching!

"Search for" category:

• To search broadly, use the "Articles, Books and more" category. This category searches for University of Cincinnati and OhioLINK books, articles, journals, and more, both physical and digital.
• To search for items held in the UC Libraries physical collections, change this category to "UC Libraries catalog." Note that this category will not include e-books or other electronic resources in the search results.
• To search for items held in OhioLINK and beyond, change this category to "Beyond my library"

"Search filters":

• Enter a search term.
• To the left, select the field type ("Any field," "Title," "Series," "Author/Creator," "Subject," "ISSN," "ISBN," "Call Number").
  • See the Search filters page to learn about using these filters.
• To the right, select the material type, the language (of resulting resources), and the start and end dates (of publication of the resulting resources). These filters may be added later.

Click on "Search."

To view your search results, scroll down below the search screen.

Note the number and relevance of the search results. If you need to, refine your results using the facets to the left. Learn more about the facets on the Refine search using facets page.

You can also consider whether you'd like to modify the initial search, perhaps by adding additional search fields.

• To modify the initial search, scroll back up to the advanced search screen.
• If the advanced search screen is collapsed, in the upper white box at the far right, click on the down arrow, and you will access the full advanced search screen.

• To the advanced search screen, add new search terms or make other changes. 
• When finished, click "Search."

If you would like to start over with a new search, select "New Search" from the red band at the top, then select "Advanced Search" to the right of the search bar to open a new OneSearch advanced search session.

If you are accessing OneSearch on your mobile device, you'll find the link by navigating to the CCM Library webpage, clicking the arrow next to "Libraries," then clicking the arrow next to "CCM." The "OneSearch advanced search" link will be the first option to appear.
