Should you want to explore alternatives to traditional course print materials, whether it is a course textbook or supplement, please do not hesitate to reach out to your library liaison for guidance or information. A few alternatives include:
- Adopt eBooks owned by UC Libraries. If we do not own the eBook you have selected for your course, please complete the UCBA Library Purchase Request Form for purchase consideration.
- Combine Library Resources to Create an Online “Coursepack” in Canvas. Our UCBA guide on integrating Library Resources for Canvas will show you how to link to UC Libraries owned content such as articles, databases and even select chapters of eBooks. This option also removes the copyright risk involved with scanning and uploading copies of materials to your Canvas course.
- Adopt OER materials. Some of our faculty have already successfully adopted OER materials for their courses. We can guide you to sources for open textbooks as well as provide general guidance on selecting OER materials. UC Clermont Library’s OER Guide provides an excellent starting place if you would like to explore this option.
