Kanopy (Streaming Video Service)
Kanopy is a video streaming service for quality, thoughtful entertainment. Find movies and documentaries, films that broaden your horizons and spark conversations, classic films that prove timeless and foreign films that show you how other people live, think and view the world we all live in.

Request Kanopy Streaming Videos
Beginning March 1, 2025, our library is transitioning to Kanopy's Smart Demand-Driven Acquisition (DDA) program, providing you with access to a curated* collection of films based on our community's viewing trends, ensuring you can discover relevant content while optimizing our library budget. This means you can now stream a wide range of titles immediately, with new additions based on popular demand.

University of Cincinnati students, faculty, and staff will continue to have immediate access to films currently leased by UC until they expire. You will still be able to search for films that the Library does not already lease in Kanopy. However, when you attempt to access a film that UC Libraries does not have a lease for, you will have the option to select the “request” button next to the film, fill out the form, and the Library will work with you to fill your need.

One way of finding streaming media titles is by searching the Library catalog.

On the UCBA Libraries home page click the Books tab in the red search box.

Enter your search term(s).
From the "Electronic Resource" drop-down menu select "Internet Resource"
From the "Limit all future searches to:" drop-down menu select "Videos, Films and Slides"
Click "Submit" or hit "Enter."
In the results list click on the title.

Please note that you may have more than option for accessing streaming media titles, including off-campus access.
