Using Teams

Microsoft Teams is cloud-based team collaboration software that is part of the Office 365 suite of applications. Using the Microsoft Teams platform, teachers and students can communicate one-on-one or in groups:

Faculty can send messages and announcements to individual students or whole classes at once.
Individual users can create private chats with other users.
With the Channels feature, faculty can use built-in Skype technology or participate in video discussions.
Faculty can use OneNote Class Notebooks to share notes and files and give feedback to individual students. Notebooks can also be shared between faculty members to collect and curate resources, collaborate and develop new documents, and share professional development materials.
Faculty can use the Teams assignment management tools to create, assign, collect, and give feedback on assignments.
Faculty can use popular education apps inside Teams, including Kahoot!, Nearpod, Quizlet, and Flipgrid. If a particular app will be used frequently by a group, you can add a designated tab to a channel just for that app, so users can get to it quickly.

eLearning Bootcamp: Use Microsoft Teams for Collaboration -- CET&L Do you want to conduct a virtual collaborative class meeting? Teams allows faculty to meet with an entire class and have students work on assignments simultaneously. This workshop will show faculty how to schedule and hold all-student class meetings in Teams. Faculty will also learn how to share the screen, create polls in real time, record the meeting and add/use an external app. Duration: 1 hour
Using Breakout Sessions in Microsoft Teams -- CET&L
eLearning Bootcamp: Microsoft Teams Breakout Sessions -- CET&L Do you want to create virtual small group meetings? Teams facilitates the faculty need to hold a main meeting that allows students to breakout into small groups while also collaborating on a document and discussing topics. In this workshop faculty will schedule a Teams meeting, create breakout groups and upload discussion documents. Note: This will work for small classes (20 students or less).  Duration: 1 hour
