What Springshare has done with their code to make LibGuides accessible:
- An alternate version of Springshare Help pages for screenreaders
- Springshare standard pages have hidden links that can only be "seen" by those using adaptive technology
- Made all the HTML output accessible-technologies friendly, e.g. using ALT tags, etc.
What we can do to make our guide content accessible:
- Add a brief explanation about an image to your image ALT tag
- Follow Springshare suggestions on how to avoid accessiblity issues when copying and pasting content into LibGuide content boxes.
- If you use iframes (an iframe is used to display a web page within a web page) see the information on how to make iframes accessible.
- Test your guide for accessibility by using the WAVE tool
