Children's and Young Adult Literature

Your CECH Library guide to support the study of children's and young adult literature.

The Kretschmer Collection of Native American Children's Literature

CECH Library is home to the Kretschmer Collection of Native American Children's Literature, a collection of children's books written and/or illustrated by Indigenous authors and artists. Initially curated by UC Professors Emeriti Richard and Laura Kretschmer, this collection of books was donated to CECH Library so that many could benefit from their powerful messages and thought-provoking stories.

An endowed fund supports the continued collection and preservation of children's books by Indigenous authors and artists, as well as educational programming.

You can explore the many brilliant books of the Kretschmer Collection of Native American Children's Literature on the third floor of the CECH Library. Books in this collection are available for loan across UC, as well as via the OhioLINK and Search Ohio lending networks.
