Health Sciences Online Learners

Online Learning students may use ILLiad (library’s online interlibrary loan system) to request articles from books/journals that are owned in print at the University of Cincinnati libraries. ILLiad is also used to request copies of articles that are not available at a UC library. 

ILLiad login instructions for online learners

Log into ILLiad for Health Sciences Library users. Use your UC Central Login username (6+2) and password. 

If you have not used ILLiad before, you will be prompted to complete a registration form before you can submit requests.  Enter the following information during registration:

• In the UC ID NUMBER field, put in your M number from your UC ID card, for example: M12345678
• In the STATUS field, choose: Distance Educ Student

• In the DEPARTMENT field, choose the college you attend, for example: College of Nursing
   

Note: Requested articles will be delivered electronically to your ILLiad account and you will be notified by email.

Request Articles Not Available at UC

Most resources that support your study are available online.  If you need a print publication to support your course work, the University of Cincinnati Libraries will work with you to supply the materials.  UC library books will be checked out in your name and mailed to you. 

• Please note that you will be responsible for returning materials by the due date via a traceable mail service, such as UPS or FedEx.
   
• If print books are not available or not owned at the University of Cincinnati libraries, try your local public library's interlibrary loan service.

Students in the state of Ohio can request print books through the OhioLINK central catalog for pick-up at another OhioLINK library. 

Only books not available from a UC library can be requested through the OhioLINK central catalog.

Books not available or not owned at the University of Cincinnati libraries or are not available through the OhioLINK central catalog may be obtained through your local public library’s interlibrary loan service.
