Arbitral tribunals are created by agreements called compromis that clarify the identity of the parties, the jurisdiction of the tribunal over both persons and subject matter, the method of selecting the tribunal, the parties’ commitment to carry out in good faith the decision of the arbitrator. This section contains the sources of the major codes of the rules of arbitration.
