F. African Union (AU) and Organization of African Unity (OAU) Documents
The African Union is the successor to the Organization of African Unity, which dissolved itself on July 9, 2002. All African states except Morocco. The AU and OAU have produced few paper documents although the Law and Langsam Libraries have some. Use UCLID to find out what is available and where. Search for Organization of African Unity as an author.
The major organs of the AU are the Assembly of Heads of State and Government, the Executive Council, the Commission, and the Court of Justice. The best source for African Union documents is its website. There are two places on the website that lead to documents. The first is the Legal Affairs link under the Inside AU tab; the second is the links under the Resources tab. The latter include News & Events; Decisions & Declarations of the Assembly; Decisions & Declarations of the Executive Council; OAU/AU Treaties, Conventions, Protocols & Charters - (Texts & Status lists); Speeches; Photos; Videos; Discussion Forum; Opinion Polls; and more.
