The following dates apply to residents in the state of Indiana for the November 2024 General Election.
Registration Deadlines:
- The last day to register to vote or update your voter registration in Indiana is: October 7, 2024 at the close of business
- Note: If you are a first-time voter who registered via mail, you will be asked to provide proof of documentation of residency before 6pm on election day
Absentee Ballot Request Deadlines:
- A request to receive a paper absentee ballot by mail in Indiana must be received by: October 24, 2024
- A request for a Military/Overseas Federal Post Card Application for voting by email or fax must be received by: November 4, 2024 by noon
- The last day to request to vote absentee in person in Indiana is: November 4, 2024 by noon
Absentee Ballot Return Deadlines:
- General Indiana absentee ballot must be received by: November 5, 2024 by 6pm.
- Note: Because your ballot must be received by election day, if at all possible, it is highly recommended to mail back your absentee ballot ASAP due to mail disruptions. POSTMARKS ON ELECTION DAY DO NOT COUNT.
- Military/Overseas ballots sent by mail within the US or via email or fax must be received by: November 5, 2024 by 6pm
- Note: Because your ballot must be received by election day, if at all possible, it is highly recommended to mail back your absentee ballot ASAP due to mail disruptions. POSTMARKS ON ELECTION DAY DO NOT COUNT.
- Military/Overseas ballots sent by mail outside the US must be postmarked by: November 5, 2024
- Note: Ballots can be postmarked Nov. 5, but must be received by noon local time on the 10th day after the election, so, if at all possible, it is highly recommended to mail back your absentee ballot ASAP to avoid mail disruptions
Early In-Person Voting Dates:
- Early In-Person Voting begins in Indiana October 8, 2024 and ends November 4, 2024
