The following dates apply to residents in the Commonwealth of Kentucky for the November 2024 General Election.
Registration Deadlines:
- The last day to register to vote or update your voter registration in Kentucky is: October 7, 2024
- Online registrations must be received by 4pm local time
- Mailed registrations can be postmarked October 7th, 2024
- In person registrations must be done by the close of business
Absentee Ballot Request Deadlines:
- The last day to request a Military/Overseas ballot in Kentucky is: October 29, 2024
- The last day to request an absentee ballot online in Kentucky is: October 22, 2024
Absentee Ballot Return Deadlines:
- All absentee ballots must be received by the board of elections in Kentucky by: November 5, 2024 at 6pm
- Note: Because your ballot must be received by election day, if at all possible, it is highly recommended to mail back your absentee ballot ASAP due to mail disruptions. POSTMARKS ON ELECTION DAY DO NOT COUNT.
Early In-Person Voting Dates:
- Excused, Early In-Person Voting schedule begins in Kentucky October 23, 2024 and ends October 30, 2024

- No excuse needed, Early In-Person Voting begins in Kentucky October 31, 2024, and ends November 2, 2024

- Tuesday, November 5, 2024, polls open 6am to 6pm
