Research Strategies for Classics Majors : A Tutorial

Section IV: Citation Styles

Please consult the Web page of "The Society for Classical Studies."

and its TAPA journal for guidelines on how to write citations and footnotes in Classics.

The American School of Classical  Studies at Athens gives author guidelines for Hesperia. However, each classics journal will have its own guidelines. The SCS offers guidelines as well. Select  "Publications" from the SCS website, then "TAPA” (formerly Transactions of the American Philological Association), and, the "New TAPA Style Sheet."

Know that your professor and librarian are always happy to help if you get stuck or if you have questions about your research, about the process itself, or if you are unsure about how to retrieve relevant sources or how to use or cite them, or any other research related question.
