The Library has ten group study rooms, 101, 103, 163, 165, 227, 271, 273, 275, 276, and 277 that can be reserved. Study rooms are for law students only.
Anyone leaving any items in a study room beyond the reserved time will have these items turned into the lost-and-found. The Law Library takes no responsibility for any items left in a study room. When leaving the room, please leave the room neat and clean. Contact Circulation Manager Justin Ellis if you have questions.
Although the Library tries to provide a safe and secure environment for research and study, thefts can occur. Do not leave belongings unattended. The Library is not responsible for any books and personal belongings left unattended.
Should a theft or other incident occur:
Beverages in containers with lids are permitted in Law Library spaces.
No food is permitted in the Rare Book Room. Packaged snack foods such as candy, chips, pretzels, crackers, and cookies; as well as other non-odiferous, non-messy foods are allowed in the Law Library stacks and study rooms. Please dispose of wrappers and containers promptly. This food policy aims to strike a reasonable balance in providing an inviting and flexible study environment but also in allowing for your classmates’ enjoyment of a clean, well-kept facility without strong or lingering food smells. It also prevents damage to library resources. All unattended food items in Law Library spaces are subject to removal and disposal by the staff. Failure of students to handle or dispose of beverage or food properly may cause the policy to be revised.
The nearest restrooms to the Library Service Suite are on the 1st floor of the building near the entrance/exit closest to the Campus Green Garage. Restrooms are also available in the basement stacks area and on the 2nd and 4th floors.
Unfortunately, sound carries in the stacks and the two reading rooms. Please avoid loud or lengthy conversations in the two reading rooms and the stacks, and any other conduct that disturbs others or disrupts their work. Please step outside of those spaces for cell phone conversations and turn off the ring feature on your cell phone or pager.
The Law Library maintains a lost and found area at the Circulation Desk. After a reasonable period of time, unclaimed items are disposed of or turned over to the UC Department of Public Safety.
