In the early twentieth century, it covered entertainment and began focusing on the music industry as the jukebox, phonograph, and radio became commonplace. During the second half of the century, it published pieces involving news, opinion, reviews, events, and style. It became especially known for its music charts, including the Hot 100 and Billboard 200, tracking the most popular songs and albums in different genres.
